Actors Nagarjuna and Tabu were once rumored to be in a relationship for almost a decade. Even though the two have remained silent about the nature of their relationship so far, Nagarjuna once said that Tabu will always be his ‘beautiful friend’. In an interview in 2017, Nagarjuna said that his ‘face shines’ when Tabu’s name comes up.
Nagarjuna and Tabu had worked together in two Telugu films- Ninne Pelladatha and Aavida Maa Avide. Ninne Pelladata (1996) romantic family drama film, produced by Nagarjuna and directed by Krishna Vamsi. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu that year. Aavida Maa Aavide (1998) is a romantic comedy film written and directed by EVV Satyanarayana. The film also stars Hira Rajagopal.

In an interview, Nagarjuna once spoke about his relationship with Tabu. “Yes, Tabu is a very good friend of mine. Our friendship goes back a long time, when I was 21 or 22 and she was only 16. That’s almost half a life…the less said about our friendship. I have nothing to hide about him. When you take his name, my face lit up… (laughs). It’s very simple. Now, when I say things like this, if you want to read this, that’s your point of view… To me, he is a beautiful person, and a beautiful friend. She will always be there,” he had said.

Nagarjuna’s wife Amala also shares a cordial relationship with Tabu. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, she said in 2006, “When serious issues like explosions and floods are affecting Mumbai, are people really wondering what Amala’s best friend is doing in her house? This is really sad. No one should care what is happening under my roof. I am happy.” In the same interview, Amala said that Tabu stays with her when she comes to Hyderabad.
Nagarjuna is awaiting the release of his upcoming Telugu film, The Ghost. She played a pivotal role in Brahmastra, which marks her Bollywood return after two decades. Nagarjuna is also all set to host the sixth season of Telugu Bigg Boss, which is starting from 4th September.
