Vice President Dhankhar will attend the inauguration of the FIFA world cup in Qatar

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will represent India at the inauguration of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 20, the Ministry of External Affairs said here.
Mr. Dhankhar will visit Qatar on November 20-21 at the invitation of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar.

Apart from attending the inaugural ceremony of the football World Cup, the Vice President will also interact with members of the Indian community during his visit.
The Vice President’s visit is an opportunity to join a close and friendly country Qatar as it hosts a major sporting event and also to recognize the role played and support extended by Indians in the World Cup, the statement said. MEA.
India and Qatar enjoy close and friendly relations in a multifaceted partnership extending to the areas of trade, energy, security, defence, health, culture, education, among others, the MEA statement said.
In the last fiscal year, bilateral trade crossed $15 billion. Qatar plays an important partner in India’s energy security and India participates in the food security of the gulf country.
India and Qatar will celebrate 50 years of establishing full diplomatic relations next year.
The MEA statement said that people to people form an important element of bilateral relations with more than 8,40,000 Indians in Qatar.
